1. Read in God’s Word what God says about you. You are a sinful human being and lost, separated from God, without Christ and without hope.
2. You must seek for God in His word, The Bible.
3. You must believe the gospel which says that Jesus died for our sins. On the cross Jesus took the punishment for our sins. You will come to the realization that your sins are gone. In turn God puts the perfect righteousness of Christ on your account. Joy will fill your heart and peace will fill your mind because you now know that God loves you and ll your sins are forgiven. All of this God confirmed when He raised Jesus from the dead.
4. You now will commit yourself, body and soul to Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life, all you are and have. This commitment is what the New testament calls faith, trusting alone in Jesus Christ for salvation and life.
5. You then will publicly confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in Christian baptism by which you enter the church. Baptism and church membership in themselves do not save you, but you must publicly confess Christ for eternal salvation.
